Colonial American Fair was developed in 1999 at the request of a fourth grade teacher who wanted to provide more curriculum based hands-on activities for his students.
Since that first program we have presented 60 Colonial American Fairs to over 12,000 Students and 2,500 Parents, and all programs combined, since 1993, we have reached an estimated 50,000 students!
Over the years cost of materials, labor and travel expenses have increased dramatically. For example, in 1999 a gallon of gasoline cost only $1.34.
Budgets, on the other hand, have been frozen or decreased. Hands on History Inc. has tried to keep our prices stable, while continuing to deliver high quality programming.
Many of our tools and equipment have become worn or broken.
With funds stretched to the breaking point there's not enough left to replace them.
We are asking for your help.
